The third annual WPA outing was a great success and a lot of fun
for all
Everyone took their turn at clasifying the dirt to run through the
high bankers, drywashers, and spiral wheel.
Chuck & Jim sure don't seem to be camera shy but I think they need
some dirt to run through
the high banker.
Randy with his spiral wheeel set up with the discharge going through
a mini sluice.
Kind of a neat idea and I'll bet he didn't miss any gold.
There was a lot of good discussion and story telling.
Again we had an excellent treasure hunt with a lot of great prizes.
There were a lot of participation form all age brackets. The children were
given a ten minute head start so they were even able to find some great
prizes.
John had to cook the sausage, chicken gumbo while the treasure hunt
was going on.
You could tell he really wanted to be there.
The chow line went pretty fast and and the Cajun sausage, chicken gumbo
was excellent. John didn't
spice it up to much so everyone was able to try it.
We even had a gold screw trommel there washing the dirt of the rock
so we didn't miss much gold.
After all the dirt and rocks were run everyone pitched in cleaning
up the rock pile.
These rocks were hauled to Atlantic City to do some ground control
in town.
One of the miners in Atlantic City donated some dirt for the kids to
pan out.
They all found some good gold.
We held our monthly meeting for July at the outing being it was so
close to the
regular date and there was a good attendance.
The gold draw was the highlight of the event. The gold from the dirt
we had run
was a little short in quanity so gold bought from the store was added
for the draw.
So everyone ended up with some gold.
The gold
This was the gold from the dirt that we had run. It was all put in
one vial for our raffle.
